HKBU Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions
Faculty of Science greets about 2,700 visitors

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) held its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions last Saturday (22 October). As part of the University, the Faculty of Science offered a broad range of on-campus and online activities attracting about 2,700 secondary school students, parents and teachers on that day.

This year, admission talks and programme briefings were held in face-to-face and online modes to accommodate the needs of different participants. Admission talks for Bachelor of Science (JS2510 & JS2910) introducing 9 major programmes on offer and admission requirements for JUPAS and Non-JUPAS applicants were delivered, followed by programme briefings of the 5 Departments. A physical visit to Sustainability Gallery (S Gallery), the first “Bioresources and Agriculture” themed exhibition gallery, was arranged. Participants had a chance to gain knowledge about sustainability in an interactive approach and reflect on the problems of contemporary lifestyles and live sustainability during the visit.

Additionally, academic advising was provided to allow participants to get first-hand information about admissions as well as gain a deeper insight into the Science undergraduate programmes, whilst a peer talk supplemented the experiential learning experiences within and beyond the campus by current students. At the Science Booth, the educational science game received an overwhelming response. A large group of participants of various ages experienced the pleasure of learning through the mini-game and received souvenirs to successfully wrap up the Information Day of this year.
