To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Faculty of Science organised the third session of the Alumni Sharing Series on 17 November (Wednesday) at WLB205, The Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies, Shaw Campus. The Faculty was very pleased to have our alumnus from the Department of Computer Science, Mr Gary Kwok – Head of Architecture, Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) – to be the speaker of the event.
During the sharing session, he talked about the challenges he encountered in the past when developing his career, for example developing mobile apps in the past years that apps were not known to the public at all, starting and selling his own business, changing different roles in the IT field, and so on. To embrace every opportunity, he described his career path as a ‘trial and error’ approach with a ‘say yes’ attitude and he gave the participants some suggestions on how to choose their career. During the Q & A session, the participants were enthusiastic about learning more from the speaker and seeking valuable advice from him.

Mr Gary Kwok gave the participants some tips for making decisions on career development.
The participants were interested in knowing more about the speaker’s past experiences of his career.
