Research Experience Sharing Talk by Awardee of Hong Kong Young Scientist Awards 2014


To enhance exchange and reinforce relationship amongst research postgraduate (RPg) students across the Faculty, the following students were selected from each of the five Departments as representatives of RPg students. They had organized/would organize a series of indoor and outdoor activities to enhance bonding amongst students.

On 19 Nov 2014, the RPg representatives successfully organized their second activity, a research experience sharing talk, at RRS905 in campus. The guest speaker was Mr Zou Taotao, the awardee of Hong Kong Young Scientist Awards 2014 under the physical/mathematical science category and a current PhD student from Department of Chemistry, The University of Hong Kong.


Around sixty students and staff members participated in the sharing. During the talk, Mr Zou shared his insights on how to strive for excellence in scientific research and students took the precious opportunities to ask their questions in the opened Q&A section. Students and staff members had a fabulous time of mingling after the talk. Students recognized the Hong Kong Young Scientist Awards much more and got more familiar with each other and faculty members from different departments across the Faculty through this activity.
