HKBU receives HK$1 million donation from Jiachen Technology Limited to establish Adaptive Learning Centre

HKBU recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Jiachen Technology Limited designated for the establishment of the Adaptive Learning Centre under the Faculty of Science. The Centre will aim to support the University in revolutionising the practice of education using the most powerful adaptive learning technology around the world. It proposes to focus on research and development in the fields of adaptive learning, computing intelligence, educational data mining and other machine-learning technologies.

In recognition of the company's generosity, the University held a cheque presentation ceremony today (6 November) officiated by Miss Zhang Jiachen, President of Jiachen Technology Limited; Ms. Song Yakun, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, and Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Chan expressed his sincere gratitude to Miss Zhang for her tremendous support to the University. He said he expected state-of-the-art technologies to be adopted to empower education and provide customised services for the education sector.

Jiachen Technology Limited has been supportive of the University's research work in information technology, in particular, projects with academic and practical value.
