Twenty-five members from the DanceSport Society recently scooped a total of 29 medals at the 8th Inter-school DanceSport Competition. They won 12 golds, 10 silvers and seven bronzes in the post-secondary division of the competition organised by the Hong Kong DanceSport Association. Apart from winning gold medals in both the Team A (Team with four couples or below) and Team B (Team with five couples or over) categories of the Formation Dance event, individual members also won personal awards.
Mr. Preasley Chu (Chemistry, Year 3) and his partner joined hands to gain two silver medals in the Waltz and Tango and four bronze prizes in the Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive. Mr. Victor Yuen (Computer Science, Year 3), President of the DanceSport Association, and his partner also won a bronze medal in the Viennese Waltz.
Mr. Victor Yuen was very happy to see that the team won so many prizes. He said they learnt many lessons in preparing for the competition. They understood the importance of team work and communication. They also learned how to coordinate the use of venues.
