The Grand Challenge

 
Environmental chemical exposure leads to the accumulation of different contaminants in blood of general populations worldwide, inferring a direct interaction of exogenous chemicals in body system.
 
The effects on human health have been strengthened via epidemiological correction, clinical observation & animal study and shown to impose long-term effects on body metabolism, cancer development & reproductive health.

However, prospective evidence on both causality and mechanisms is lacking.
 
Vision

 

A leadership role to strengthen our understanding on the health risks posed by chemical pollutants and mark a milestone in Hong Kong by which an integrated strategy combining pollution factors into medical research will be implemented. 

To deliver solutions of real environmental importance, to safeguard health of present and future generations.
