Message from the Dean, Prof. Tang Tao
Knowledge of science is an indispensable part of our orientation to the world in which we live. It also has a key role to play in the development and protection of our environment. However, the civilization of human beings and the development of our society require not only science but also attention to other studies. Understanding science and technology should include understanding their role in the modern world, their influence on social changes and their relation with political and economic theories. There are a lot of challenges for those who choose a science or a science-related career. Well-trained scientists with understanding of human relations and international affairs will always be at a premium.
Our Faculty is committed to quality research and teaching. We have a diversity of specializations and a significant level of funded research. The academic programmes are of high quality and with balanced academic components. Our curricula include components for students to acquire knowledge in different areas. The Faculty has established collaborative programmes and links with teaching and research organizations in the Mainland China and overseas. Opportunities are provided for academic and cultural exchange with students in other countries. We have an intimate atmosphere in the Faculty. The well-being of the students is the focused attention of our staff.
