Patent developed by Department of Physics named in top 50 in contest

The patented invention entitled “Sapphire thin film coated substrate” developed by Professor Cheah Kok-wai is named as one of the top 50 candidates at the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) High-Value Patent Portfolio Contest 2021.

The HKBU patented invention entitled “Sapphire thin film coated substrate” has been named as one of the top 50 candidates at the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) High-Value Patent Portfolio Contest 2021. Developed by Professor Cheah Kok-wai, Dr Elizabeth K. S. Law Endowed Professor in Advanced Materials and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, the special substrate is one of only two candidates from Hong Kong in the top 50.
