Organic Green Health Run draws 2,500 runners

The Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre (HKORC) of HKBU held its Organic Green Health Run 2017 on 12 November, attracting 2,500 participants including citizens and students of 30 schools. 

Now in its 13th year, the event featured numerous activities including a green carnival as well as the run. The officiating guests included Secretary for the Environment Mr Wong Kam-sing, Chairman of the Governing Board of HKORC Mrs Sophie Leung, HKBU Vice-President (Research & Development) Professor Rick Wong, Chairman of Shatin District Council Mr Ho Hau-cheung, Legislative Councilor Dr Elizabeth Quat, General Manager of Amway Hong Kong Ltd Ms Louisa Lui, and Professor Jonathan Wong, Director of the Centre.

Mr Wong Kam-sing encouraged participants to adopt a low-carbon green lifestyle for the sake of the environment. 

Professor Jonathan Wong spoke about the concept of an organic lifestyle, pointing out to participants how closely linked organic resources are to daily life. Through the event, the participants learned how to be a wise consumer and adopt a sustainable lifestyle.
