HKBU fencing teams shine at intercollegiate competition


HKBU Men’s Team captures championship in Sabre in the USFHK Fencing Competition

Women’s team wins the second runner-up in Epee

HKBU men’s and women’s fencing teams won the championship in sabre and the second runner-up title in epee respectively in the Hong Kong University Sport Federation (USFHK) Fencing Competition.

The HKBU fencing teams comprise Hong Kong representatives who possess agility, physical prowess and excellent techniques. The men's team, formed by Low Ho-tin and Chan Cheuk-him (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 2), Wong Tim-ho (Sport and Recreation Leadership, Year 4) and Chang Chi-hin (Associate degree, Year 2), defeated the athletes from HKU in the finals and were crowned champion in the Men’s Sabre. In addition, the team won the third runner-up prize in the Men’s Overall competition.

Meanwhile, Leung Gi-heng (Applied Biology, Year 3), Kong Man-ning and Lau In-fong (Associate degree, Year 2) and Mak Hoi-wan (Geography, Year 4) formed the women’s team and defeated the athletes from CUHK in the semi-final competition to win the second runner-up prize in Epee.
